I have my cats to not only keep me company, but to keep me warm. <img id="id_1647_5cfe_703a_708" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/CwIoN_91-1l8nk8chu1MatL87K2_0P3me5ZrF3skwLD31qLCDk-L81054SQy8yup0JY" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>Peldynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05467208667969292492noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3127087094334154678.post-1959111929975328922022-08-15T22:18:00.001-07:002022-08-15T22:18:06.622-07:00My New Amazon StorefrontAs most of you know, my cats are very important to me. I love documenting them in photos and video. <div><br><div><img id="id_b742_a69_478b_43ae" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/UkDEFDrl3w6WP4ycjgi2963x4xTKo6wQgAkewW6eT-oaVY7BsIxiozu3bcUGyGcaz5Y" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><div><div>I am so excited to tell you, I was just accepted to the Amazon Influencers Program. I now have a storefront where you can see my fav cat items. </div></div><div><br></div><div>So what does this all mean? It means you can see the items that I buy for myself and that I think are super cute. If you like them too you can buy them off of Amazon. I get a small commission on qualifying sales. This income will help me get feral cats to the vet and help pet charities and pet owners in need. </div><div><br></div><div>So consider checking it out!</div><div><a href="Check out this page from Peldyn’s Life With Cats https://www.amazon.com/shop/peldynscats" id="id_a705_9a51_7ada_43f6">Peldyn’s Life With Cat’s Store</a><br></div><div><img id="id_b81d_4447_4fbe_d686" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/r-hd3gFKmjHLBrCJ1muL_iikCEMFuE7Bkz0dRMoGp_NP4tE09u_Pp6rPrVvo0Bd5vNg" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><br></div></div></div>Peldynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05467208667969292492noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3127087094334154678.post-52422487536880989362022-04-06T14:44:00.001-07:002022-04-06T14:44:36.715-07:00Painting a MuralI have been fixing up the North Garden. I really neglected it after Dobby died. So today I started the background for a mural in his honor. Working on big fluffy clouds. This is going to be a long haul project. Took me two hours to do the little bit I got up. I still need to finish all the colors of clouds and then add details. I will keep you updated on the progress.<div><img id="id_5ad_dac2_4c01_7078" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/BtM3-KJftKTmcX-T0X-lbnUWJd116wyF4ebarptc8t-_e0fU1zboBIhG_xzgCOw3dYU" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>The dollhouse is waiting for me to not be doing other stuff. I haven’t working in the dollhouse due to tiny kittens being kept in the room my dollhouse is in. They were so worth it. <div><img id="id_e029_d1b5_a33f_a262" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/r0lGBq-zeeWg6oJkiJs8jxCD0DfSUa4Ar7QWt7YOC3s-GftC4ijLKghafksYUVrs5LI" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_94d_1cea_a369_a257" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/3zKCB-8t895xgs6zmeKyvBgp5RMbfp1Xpd9vkz9tOrjnilQxYpYQZpwWRcQmTGkmBJQ" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_da34_1b66_4fb1_62ef" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/rENcLGUzmMgvZ5B3qk3jkr-dUR-aL7hD1o3DQ-ACtYtYvaGmqd0xl2PwCVhlsTci30Y" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>The two older babies went to their new home a couple days ago. I do have to spend a good amount of time on pest control. Aphids, cabbage loopers, squash bugs, tomato worms. I have them all and they drove me nuts! I don’t want to use pesticides so hand picking, heavy spaying with water and dish soap are my go-tos. Makes me tired, but I deserve to eat those veggies, not the bugs.</div><div><img id="id_fd73_91ab_a617_a9be" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/QnjUnDRsHl8Ra9WJFbqVEyzdFx4abgyXCWwCb7vEvuG5zxVJDSTFGmYQWalGKEez1z4" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_a1da_6dbd_2c6b_f1e0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/N13SKeSZ7UnaQ277Mab77GEaqMbimpJdsZPTw_naFh-TUrqSHtuI79gtsyTcyiUsTeA" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_1570_5422_e464_2100" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/CNDSD4Mz89ImyQRIqQXtVur7wPOBje3XUEjwMi4v0DSYfHN-hSSwSFwZOvTSy6LDgFk" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>I also grew sunflowers for the first time this year. I started a garden subscription box to maybe add a little variety to what I grow. I saw <a href="https://leafdbox.com" id="id_b194_7df1_de04_5c0e" target="_blank">leaf’d box</a> on Facebook and decided what the heck, it could be cool. had never grown endive or radicchio and was excited at how beautiful they grew<div>Radicchio </div><div><img id="id_6e2c_5106_f228_c5b9" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-GB6DoubdTfxVBdjZWH5wMqrY5pW8QW1pCmCXs-DGctAzs_1xDHwfZXhpZR8MiUcMOk" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>Endive<br><img id="id_8398_3a5e_c5e6_bf6" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/q2jkEBBPz3P9eq6K3UHWXwLQ9CZwpLMIY6GS2kPvccsvZ361IZv1_mEvvK76zDnEudE" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>I have so much of these so I searched for recipes. She is hating me and all hissy so I am trying to give her peace and quiet. <div>I did do a little bit of hand sewing though. I had purchased a mouse for the dollhouse and it had a really ugly purple sweater on that did not go with the gold hat it was wearing. So I used my fave Debbie Mumm bee fabric to make her a new outfit. </div><div><img id="id_27b9_4ee8_af7f_9d95" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/rQXXynnQ9zNqsO8jAFQT8x7_NU6S7RBkXRBj5o07SizslBRMj1hdLlWga_DfopTLgPI" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_5500_dab2_7962_32dc" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/TfyD2NEi97fx2ljze9xRdkFttx0kklk0g1-EcZc8Zow9EVrLE2ksIiGSOhJxrCRri6Y" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_6770_b26_30ce_3663" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/JR4KQTMB4ePj1d43UZo1iUomcQ8a-k4BedYGSoXXIWw2-Ycb_fvQ_1Dz4e_jE_466w4" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>I cute out a little bee from the fabric and glued it on her hat. Something to sit in front of while reading The Dibbler. This was a challenge in many ways. It was my first completely from scratch item, it was my first time trying to do such tiny tiny painting. It is to fill in a space in a room that is very small and hard to work in. It had to be built in place because I wouldn’t have been able to maneuver it past the door. Also the front part of the room is narrower than the back. Very frustrating. <div><img id="id_562e_f8a7_6c36_571a" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/cs41SLcpLpX2tEm6bxEtYGv5rDEhXPxOh39TPN4DY176RIFneAnSWxDbgduKE8F4Rd0" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>I used jumbo popsicle sticks. I am still waiting on the new junction spices so I can’t start the music room without being able to do the wiring. <div>Back to the library. I had a few samples of vinyl tile from Home Depot. They don’t carry them anymore but I really liked the idea of using them for the floor. I cut them into 1” squares. If you run into a snag then it becomes a nightmare. <div>The original transformer I was using for this dollhouse was very old. I don’t even know how old. When it decided to go crazy, it fried the junction splice. We are talking sparks shooting and smoke. So I buy a new transformer and dig out another junction splice from my parts bin. This is all working well until I needed to remove the junction splice to add the brick. The splice broke. Going onto Amazon I buy a new junction splice that looks like the one I had. I receive a different one. Looks like cir-kit changed their junction splices at some point.</div><div><br></div><div>Old splice</div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_6cd7_cba6_a68b_d575" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/_RwTEA1OsU0_0y--gvxcKIw-My5tWjEgVvXOnkDKrp5OcKMNg3QWWYPWAHuSTo-o4Go" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>New splice</div><img id="id_56d_e720_ef47_70f3" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/fne4DajUEH1PxVurF79QLscAhn-SAxQ9_hgnxB86GmEbudW_kU3iIaNiTzXwpkqk9rQ" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><div>So I try to plug in the lead in wire. The prongs are too big! Well dang it. I go back to Amazon and order a new lead in wire that specifically says it will fit cir-kit part CK1007 which is what I now have. </div><div>It came in the mail yesterday and guess what? It doesn’t fit!</div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_8edd_603_9eec_1d21" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/MCmqumbsV2vx73mEi5FFu8LEPc2VmI69NiB9HgqpdOPor5T8RZKkxi93wPk_MAnVZ0Q" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>The prongs are the same size as the old lead in wire. I head over to the cir-kit website and they want $13.95 shipping for a $5 wire that they will just put in a padded envelope and ship first class for $3. Screw that. That is highway robbery. I went to eBay this time and found what looks to be the old style junction splice for sale. I bought two. Goddess help me if they don’t work because I am about done with this tomfoolery. Standardized parts for electrical should be a rule. Forcing people to buy multiple of parts because they changed something is ridiculous. </div><div>So this is were I am at right now. I have one room left undone and need the electricity so I can make sure the tape wire is operational. In the entryway I only have the ceiling light to put up, but without electricity I can’t tell where to put the dang plug. Maybe I will just start sawing the wood for the outside board and batten. That should keep me occupied instead of stewing over this.</div><div>Peldyn</div>Peldynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05467208667969292492noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3127087094334154678.post-83839902778036777842021-04-18T11:04:00.001-07:002021-04-18T11:04:45.225-07:00The Play’s The ThingWith more and more people getting vaccinated, it looks like theatre may open again! With precautions of course. That said, I have heard there may be auditions for Bell, Book and Candle. I am definitely going to try out for the part of Aunt Queenie. She was played magnificently by Elsa Lanchester. <div><br></div><div><img id="id_708b_ba2a_1ae4_f5b9" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/ARUTIMwyAR4OZRwkVlg4e1qC9fRPmyC2ku4px1ZL5_UAHUOFQk-kHsDiJaGUfTGSlF0" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>I think I can do her blend of mischievousness and child-like naivety. By the time the auditions start, it will be two weeks since my second dose of covid vaccine. I won’t feel so worried about getting ill. I just know, I need to get out of the house! Lol. What are you looking forward to doing? Have you been able to get vaccinated? Let me know what you think. </div><div>Peldyn</div>Peldynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05467208667969292492noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3127087094334154678.post-75700023891759357422021-04-05T14:56:00.001-07:002021-04-05T14:56:04.818-07:00Bedroom 2 and Hallway Complete! Someone had mentioned using straws as the mold. I actually had two sizes of straws in the house so I was excited to start!<div><img id="id_c67e_f8b8_77cc_f14b" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/qHzNIUYHzvi40ejjCFtO7AxzaM3yuIfkvOsjV3jK5PCIIVK_g_pVJ5ucnGxGjkjtEq0" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>Cutting the straws to length was easy. You just had to be careful as the cut bit would fly off and then who knows where it went! Lol</div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_a55f_c8dd_67a4_2943" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/7xGEVvoH1y3eb_QdCl35nWJh2u2lRy7E5z4pxBQO59ODTE3D9rmiEyjJAmJD0SoN1NM" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>I laid some tape out on my counter and set the cut bits of straw on it securely. I used a spoon to scrape some candle wax out of an old jar candle I had. I then used a lighter under the spoon to melt the wax. It was a bit messy tipping the wax from the spoon into the straws, so melt a bit more wax than you think you will need.</div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_4ea3_439_1bf1_28db" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/gfdELzBB5GUgq-u2hClrT20UB0V5m0VGTN9sKdlfP3vCKx9FI2ffVDNLRsTXH3o2YnQ" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>My taller straws fell over, but were still good! I snipped bits of black wire to use as wicks. Best to put them in while the wax is still soft so you don’t crack the candle.</div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_8a91_df94_f00a_747f" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/WuQJHpzWxc5lJchmavlq7F-ZoFlO3gprzj22YiJVS_TCyjkmFe4y1cvqTjqtdPMcnwQ" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>The candles removed from the straws so easily! The Dollhouse SagaI finally did it. I finally finished painting the furniture for the first bedroom. I used oops paint from Lowe’s and Home Depot. While they are great and super cheap, I am considering buying specialty watercolors from <a href="https://www.facebook.com/campbellax/" id="id_cfee_4321_ea3e_3cda" target="_blank">Campbella</a> in the UK. I dyed the fabric a while back so it really is time I sewed them up. I picked some branches from the mulberry tree to make the curtain rods. I am also making little branch tie backs<div><br></div><div><img id="id_7485_3180_b328_845f" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/PrJC_HTsJN2F-oVGKWzF9xxZ-jN-_jC7UUYKfyQox1vpJAQ0seUo6lfbyhj9JdOqSq4" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>The branches need to dry out before I paint them. In the evening I hand-sewed the bedding for the blue room. I call it the blue room even though the accent wall has purples and yellows. I am liking the antiqued brass twig I put over the bed. I think I am going to spray paint the clothes tree and the drawer pulls the same color.<div><img id="id_11fd_32d0_7560_ecb0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/BxQAP5Tw9F3DHjTsQNtOKr7PPcySPzNJj3nVBCGkjEtlABqSbYIZywI2dsCGcuRjfk0" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_ad_837e_fc19_be3a" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/6JUN-S-BJpxCle6k_HTfPvwzNQ9Q6Wu3twPmvD4jOPPojIVVoJdI9Go8rAo6L2RpqFU" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_9ae7_1d4c_91a8_23a6" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/4saS-nkocdaLMdRBe9E4Q0FmeWf6UT5Goe__zPNHP4oQHef0gSoaREvc4Nl4wKBqXYc" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_c67b_966b_883c_e81c" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/bpn6WGsDsGAe5wEzeHcSHldjyd9ABVZL_VEf_C-OAAa6jBjtXoal87rSGtbUDar-808" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_9592_ffe2_6bc8_f4d1" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/LkZ9by-zp1FY6Dy7cwt0i5EUU7QynVvJdkBaBWw0OEgBhD_jhwDdTimO5xZE6TX9Ih0" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>Deciding on curtain rods has been a chore. I was going to use corbels and small Woden dowels painted white. I now think I am going to use twigs from my mulberry tree spray painted antique gold. That should pull all of it together. More window trim should be arriving next week so I can finally get this room completed. </div><div>Peldyn</div>Peldynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05467208667969292492noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3127087094334154678.post-66000560631919998992021-03-17T13:05:00.001-07:002021-03-17T13:05:01.044-07:00More Small Projects: The Dollhouse SagaWorked on a small Tiffany style lamp. It is a bit clunky, a tad out of scale. It also was not electric. Maybe it was at some point? It was in a lot of dollhouse items I bought about 11 years ago. So I put in an led bulb I bought off of Amazon. <div><br></div><div><img id="id_363_5d60_adfe_af88" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/2HFLWtTlAukFzLP1afUnv5M3vvJQkGaZ6Xw9dnfMEohTLfT_dglZD9TMxu31oXnlRZk" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_443_7cb3_96e4_f40b" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/g-3INMTG9Hp_Jp7J-LcRSFAgvFMge3ZST-TODTotShY2CgLxdlB0xW_N085MHNKA5FM" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>Then I made a seat cushion for the bay window seat. The chickens have gotten in a few times, but I am still getting a good harvest. The broccoli, fennel, kale, and cabbage have been amazing. I did learn a fun fact about fennel. You can grow it from the end of the cut bulb and if you leave the root in the ground it grows back too! So for every fennel I harvest, I get two new plants. I call that a win win.<div><br></div><div><img id="id_3739_4b72_7d1_66e4" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/S3XTkyctus43_X7E6IMu-DhSwPhuW9lLrYesILru7FCrat4JxXQsntWPz-IIv65w7oQ" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_c66e_5800_ff16_a0bd" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/hCRNj9Fgsio3UpDRTvBxg5WY0WZqJ-3_p3rxcIYpJ7fF241UVTCDRMSluBplyCweLfs" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>My chickens are laying plenty of eggs so that means lots of quiche and custard. I was very new to it all and didn’t know that there were ones that lit up. Now I am getting close to finishing that room and I want... more. So using all my destructive energy I took apart the fireplace and drilled a hole in it. <div><img id="id_fe21_c3ec_3015_9afb" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/xxWqNAPirWIbA-2yXMBgQJEQb_hPcio1Np003jih7xSGuSyeD2vml7qkridccXn24D8" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_43d5_5970_7560_bdbd" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/doxIjr4l50lv0ZWkK9trKFpOxPE7nhiCcM99ViYrreZpVBIp84lbhrwWOyx-AJah7_8" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>Yes, I tore apart another tea light for this.
